Hey what’s up?  I’m Lauren, the artist behind Badass Botanical Art.  Gonna give this blogging thing a go (again, I had one longgggg ago).  So, let’s get to know each other, ok?

My project is about combining some very lady-like arts, calligraphy and watercolor floral painting, and pairing them with empowering messages.  I love art, I love words, and I love the idea of lifting others up and giving a good example.

I also adore art history, and my day job as an adjunct instructor puts me on a stage to share what makes us all unique, and ultimately, what unites us.  Some people may question the importance of art history for most majors, but visual culture is so relevant today.

I plan to use this blog to support my Instagram feed, bulk up my tech skills (lol), and as an outlet for my wordier side.  I write others’ words in calligraphy, but these ones?  All mine.
